Fun Restaurants In Disney World

When it comes to enjoying your Disney vacation and creating magical moments, your Disney dining options are plentiful!  If you’re looking for something both unique and fun, these are the seven restaurants in Disney World you need to add to your list!

Long before I ever moved to Disney World (I say I moved to Disney, not Orlando), the first phone number I had memorized was the Disney Dining Phone Number (407-WDW-DINE).   And trust me, it was used frequently.

“What’s the best place to eat in the Magic Kingdom?” friends would ask.  “Is the Disney World Dining Plan worth it?”  “Are the Epcot restaurants good?”

When friends and family visited, they’d always ask me about the best restaurants at Disney World.

Well, not only do I like good food, I’m always up for something fun and unique, especially at Disney!

Yes, you can save money by eating counter service meals, packing your own lunch or going off property for dinner.  However, if you’re going to Disney for a truly magical experience, they have tons of excellent dining experiences!

This fun Disney restaurant will take you back to the 50’s when sitting around the kitchen counter with your family was still a thing!

If you like classic American food served with a bit of sass, you don’t want to miss this opportunity to put your elbows on the table and enjoy the yumminess (and fun) that follows!

You’ll hear the sounds of the 50’s, see all kinds of nostalgic sights, smell the deliciousness of years gone by and laugh with those you love as you enjoy your favorite traditional foods.

Of all the restaurants in Disney World, when I go to Hollywood Studios, I end up eating here the most.

This festive restaurant allows you to experience Octoberfest all year long!  It’s German cuisine in an authentic German environment with lively entertainment too!

How can you go wrong with that??

This restaurant provides a huge buffet full of German cuisine.  For me, that means lots of brats, pork schnitzel and chicken.  And a Disney buffet isn’t complete without lots of desserts too – I can already taste the Bavarian Cheesecake and Apple Strudel!

Communal Biergarten style seating fills the dining room in front of the stage, so be prepared for a festive atmosphere full of others who are out for a fun dining experience too.

There are obviously lots of restaurants in Disney World, especially Epcot, but for a fun and unique dining experience, this one will bring on the fun in a very Octoberfest kind of way.

4. Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue

Are you ready to laugh??  This show is super cheesy, super funny and super delicious!  You’ll stomp your feet, clap your hands and have a good ‘ol time laughing to the sights and sounds of the Old West.

Before moving to Disney World, I would bring clients to this dinner show and always knew it would be a hit.  I’ve brought high students, middle school students and students who would not take their eyes off their phones….until the puns started rolling.  Every single student has loved this place!

This is more than a fun Disney World Restaurant, it’s a Disney World experience you will remember for years and years!

But it’s not just fun and laughs, the food is absolutely amazing too!  It’s served family style and all-you-can-eat, so trust me when I say you will not leave hungry.  The ribs are some of the best I’ve ever eaten, the chicken is better than your Granny’s and the Strawberry Shortcake is as fresh as you’ve ever experienced. Disney World knows how to do fun and food!

The Details for Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue:

  • Take a boat from Magic Kingdom to Fort Wilderness Campground or Disney Bus Transportation from any theme park.

Then take the bus to Settlement / Pioneer Hall.
  • Reservations are required and require a ticket purchased in advance.

5.  ‘Ohana at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort

Ohana - Restaurants In Disney World

If you’re looking for a tropical dinner, totally Hawaiian and mouth-watering good, ‘Ohana should be your first choice.  Matter of fact, for me, it’s my absolute favorite Restaurant In Disney World  for dinner and always my first choice.

What makes this restaurant unique for dinner is its Polynesian setting, immersive storytelling, windows facing the nightly fireworks from Disney’s Magic Kingdom and the skewers of meat constantly being offered.  With live entertainment, tropical music, coconut races and hula hoops there’s something fun for everyone!

As you walk in you’ll see the open kitchen and wood fired grill. You’ll immediately celebrate knowing this is served family style and all-you-can-eat.  The servers will try to trick you to eat the fresh salads, delicious veggies, savory bread and skewers of meats… but as difficult as it may be, save room for the dessert.  It will not disappoint!

The Details for ‘Ohana:

  • Location: Polynesian Village Resort
  • Price Range: $15 – $60

6. Sanaa

The Bread Service at Sanaa is absolutely fabulous!! There are so many things to love about Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge!

A photo posted by Bonnie Cribbs (@sharingmagicalmoments) on

Sanaa is described as “African cooking with Indian flavors.”  To me, that makes Sanaa rather unique if for no other reason!  But there’s so much more about this Restaurant in Disney World that makes it incredibly unique.

The decor is outstanding with thousands and thousands of artifacts from Africa.  You’ll be impressed by the artwork and the furniture. The architecture is beautiful and as you look out the window, you’ll see a savanna full of giraffes, zebras and other wild animals.  The entire experience is visually stimulating.

And then there’s the taste of the food.  It’s very different, very unique, but also not so exotic and different that you’ll be scared to taste and sample.  I’ve tried different menu items each time I’ve visited (at least 7 times so far) and everything has been exceptional.

The one thing on the menu that is a must is their bread service – oh my word it’s amazing!!  The full bread service comes with five different flatbreads and nine flavorful dipping sauces that range from mild to hot.  Delicious, Incredible and Yummy are the first words that come to mind!  It’s worth going to this restaurant in Disney World just for the bread service.

Yes, I’m guilty of doing so!

The Details for Sanaa:

  • Location: Animal Kingdom Lodge, Kadani Villiage
  • Price Range: $15 – $35
  • Accepts select Disney World Dining Plan options
  • Open:  Lunch, Dinner
  • Menu:  View Menu
  • Tips: Definitely get the bread service.  Visit the savanna after your meal.
  • As far as restaurants in Disney World goes, I believe this one is a hidden gem.
  • Reservations are suggested, but I have been able to walk in and get a table.

7.  Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant

Is it a restaurant in Disney World or is it a drive-in theater in Disney World?  I do believe it’s both!

This dining experience brings a whole new fun level to “dinner and a show.”  As you sit in your 50’s style convertible car, you get to watch a movie as you dine in style!  It’s such a unique dining experience – you’re going to love this place!

And yes, of course the food is good too!  I’ve had the ribs, the pasta and Sci-Fi Appetizer Platter (which I highly recommend).  But because my sweet tooth is rather dominant, the “Out-Of-This-World Turtle Cheesecake” gets me every single time!

The Details for Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant:

  • Location: Hollywood Studios
  • Price Range: $15 – $35
  • Park Admission to Hollywood Studios Required
  • Accepts select Disney World Dining Plan options
  • Open:  Lunch, Dinner
